Tradition meets modernity
The river bed is being lowered by 2 m near Steffisburg. A water wheel will transport water to the now higher Mühlebach stream – without any external energy. Fish can overcome the river threshold via a round basin pass. All inflows and outflows are regulated automatically by various water control gates, depending on the current river level.
