Stainless and Extra Hard
As components that come into contact with the medium, the gates of our Wey knife gate valves are made of high-quality stainless steel. This material already exhibits high strength and corrosion resistance. For special requirements, we go one step further: Under the influence of heat, the stainless steel surface is enriched with nitrogen and thus nitrided.
The nitrided stainless steel is not only visually more matte and darker; it also achieves a significantly higher surface hardness. Four of these VN knife gate valves with nominal sizes of DN 600 and 700 were manufactured for the waste water treatment process at a German sugar factory.
