Made to last for decades
This Wey knife gate valve had been in reliable service for 40 years or more in a Swiss wastewater treatment plant. It was located in such a central position that a failure would have been fatal and repairs could only be carried out within a few days.
The AO knife gate valve model has long since been replaced by our current MH model. However, even after more than four decades, the valve was still in such good condition that repairing the existing model was no problem. The body, topwork, and handwheel were sandblasted and repainted, the gate was ground, and the seals were replaced. After just three days at the Sistag factory, the knife gate valve returned to the wastewater treatment plant as good as new—ready for the next decades of service.
