Corrosion protection at the highest level
Nothing was left to chance with these custom-made valves. The knife gate valves will be used in a Swedish wastewater treatment plant to shut off raw sewage. As the plant is being built near the coast, corrosive salt water from the nearby sea may enter the plant. The valves were therefore made almost entirely of stainless steel. The gate is made of duplex steel and has also been hard chrome-plated and coated with stellite. Even the hydraulic cylinder is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
Despite their impressive size of 700 x 1500 mm in the passage, the knife gate valves are designed for a working pressure of up to 5 bar.
