Waste paper recycling as a stress test
The recycling of waste paper is extremely beneficial for the environment – but the valves used are subjected to heavy wear. Waste paper collection, which is already abrasive, is often interspersed with foreign objects such as staples or other waste.
We have therefore taken additional precautions for these two knife gate valves for a Spanish paper mill: as is standard for the VS product series, the body is made entirely of stainless steel. A wear ring provides additional protection against abrasion. The stainless steel gate has been coated with a high-velocity oxygen fuel coating (HVOF), making it even more robust. Finally, the topwork was painted light blue in accordance with the customer's wishes.
