For closing times of up to 19 ms
In the event of an explosion, everything has to happen quickly. It is often only a matter of hundredths of a second whether the rest of the system can be sealed off in time or whether the explosion will spread throughout the entire system and cause devastating damage. The positioning of our HSI explosion protection knife gate valves in the pipeline is therefore calculated precisely in advance.
At a regular air pressure of 6 bar, the closing times of the HSI vary between 23 and 58 ms, depending on the nominal size of the valve. Where this is not sufficient or in systems with low system pressure, the pressure can be increased by a factor of 1.8 using a booster. At a peak pressure of 8 bar, the HSI DN 100 thus manages to close in just 19 ms. On request, the booster can be fitted to the air cylinder of the knife gate valve at the Sistag factory.
