ASSEMBLY UNDER WATER
In this plant, thermal energy from Lake Geneva is converted into heating energy for buildings on the shore. The lake water is pumped into the plant, passes through a heat exchanger and then flows back into the lake, just a few degrees cooler.
The knife gate valve regulates the lake inflow in the process. Before the valve is installed, the main pipeline is open to the lake and the plant’s antechamber is thus flooded. Precise millimeter work and exact communication were necessary during installation. The actuator will be mounted on the valve after the chamber has been pumped empty.
