TROUBLE FREE CLEANING

On the shore of a Swiss lake, a heat pump will soon heat several buildings with thermal energy from the lake water. Two Wey knife gate valves MG regulate the main inflow and outflow. Like many Swiss waters, this lake has been populated by the invasive quagga mussel since 2015. Regular cleaning of the lake pipes by pigging is therefore essential.

The regular Wey knife gate valve design is not a problem for most pipe cleaning methods. However, for a few pigs, the gate guides that protrude a few centimeters into the passage on the left and right can become a problem. For installations like these, we therefore manufacture our knife gate valves in a full bore version with a completely free passage on request.
