Double protection
In the standard version, Wey knife gate valves of the MF series are equipped with a single NBR transverse seal. For special applications, however, they can also be fitted with a double transverse seal.
The three valves in the photo are manufactured for an Italian power plant, where they shut off pipelines containing limestone powder. In order to retain the fine and highly abrasive powder and to prevent it from escaping into the atmosphere at all costs, the double transverse seal was installed to provide additional protection against leakage. The sealing material LATTYflon 4758 is perfectly suited for powdery media of this type.
