Spotted: Wey sluice gates at the WWTP Schönau

The Schönau wastewater treatment plant in Cham is one of the largest and most advanced wastewater treatment plants in Switzerland. Around 45,000 cubic meters of wastewater flow together here every day and are released from the treatment plant fully cleaned just 24 hours later. A video from the Water Protection Association of the Zugersee-Küssnachtersee-Ägerisee region (GVRZ) shows how this works in detail.

The modern plant was equipped almost entirely with Wey valves, including knife gate valves, butterfly valves and water control gates.
